How tall are you?

You may want to ask your doctor about Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. I was (sort of) diagnosed with it and they put me on Metformin and I started my period not too ling after.

Otherwise, don't worry about it! Not everyone has their period at 13. Some people take a little longer.

Do not panic girl, your fine! For the first year or two when you have your period you may skip a month, two months, maybe 3! After about 2 years your periods will be regular and will come pretty much every month. You will know its about to start with PMS. When you start to get your period you may notice some patterns on how you feel before that time of the month. Some of these physical and emotional changes are called Pms. (Pre menstrual sydrome) It is cause by hormones. PHYSICAL: Up to 2 weeks before your period your boobs may feel more tender than usual. You may also notice that your body feels heavier and that your skin is more prone to breakouts. You may also feel cramping in your lower abdomen below your belly button. The cramps are because the muscles of your uterus are hard at work. EMOTIONAL: you may feel grouchy irritated and more emotional.

Report this to your doctor at your regular checkup. Are you tall or of scandinavian heritage? Because my daughter is, and the pediatrician said that could partly be why. My sister is not tall, but didn't menstruate until she was 16, but she is a juvenile diabetic.

Think of it this way: you probably don't intend to get pregnant anyway right now. Perhaps you are extending your fertility by another four years or so, past when a person who started at 12 goes into menopause. That could be good, right? Some women can't get pregnant at 36, and maybe you'll want to!

Hang in there, it'll happen. :-)

Sweetie be HAPPY! Its funny when we are all younger and want to start and feel weird because we havent but all of our friends have. I didnt start until I was 18, but like you had hit all other areas earlier. You do not want to deal with stress of a period. Talk to your mom and see at what age she started, thats probably around the same time you will. My mom and sister both did not start until 18/19, it is not uncommon so dont freak out! Just be happy that you dont have to deal with the cramps, pms, bloating, tiredness that so many other women are dealing with! You will know what I mean once you start!
