I am pretty sure every state requires a license to sell insurance now. So no, not necessarily. That could be the course cost, or it could be the test or license cost.
Just make sure it is a state mandated license and not some company sponsored deal.

Liberty National Life Insurance is a legitimate company and has a satisfactory rating with the BBB, so it's not exactly a scam per se, but honestly I wouldn't take the "job" unless you fancy yourself a hard salesperson who would enjoy pushing insurance policies on people that they probably don't need. You won't get paid a salary from them, just commission, and their goals are often impossible to achieve to make any decent money, and certainly not enough to make a decent living from.
The problem is, most people who could actually afford the life insurance they offer already HAVE adequate life insurance through their jobs.
Essentially, you are being asked to be a telemarketer and/or door-to-door salesperson for their insurance, and will only be paid if you actually sell their policies. If you fancy yourself good at that kind of stuff, then by all means take it. If you prefer a steady guaranteed paycheck, I'd look elsewhere for work.

100% SCAM Remember, there is NO employer who will ever offer a job to a random person over the internet. Anyone offering you a job before meeting you is always a scam Never give your home address to any CL job postings for any reason - an employer only needs this after you visit the office and are filling out your forms with HR for your payroll. On your resume just list your city and state and set up a separate email account This is typical of CL job scams - this is a classic money mule and reshipping scam that will land you in prison for fencing stolen goods

Hell yeah it's a scam. Any job that you have to pay to get is a scam. I had one like that were I was to mail off a bunch of letters for this company at home, and all I had to do was send them $125 for the start up fee and materials. They also sent me a computer disk with software to load on my computer that I would have a direct link with the company. Man, I loaded that disk into my computer, and it was like the blue prints to Pac Man or something. I don't know what that mess was, but I got scammed. And there's no way to call them, no address, no nothing but a P.O. box, that was conveniently not there anymore.

My ex did something similar to that but it was with Mega Life Insurance. He had to take a class which he paid for out of his own pocket and paid to get his license. It took about a month and he was not paid for any of it. Insurance agents like that work on commission so if you don't sell any insurance you don't make any money. He only did it for a few months and didn't make nearly as much as he had been told he would. He quit doing it a few months later. My advice is to look for something else with a guaranteed paycheck.

The scam would be it's mostly a work at home deal. How are you going to get clients from your house? If you have life insurance where and how did you get it? I'll bet the agent came to your house or where you were working at the time. you probably didn't go to their house to sign up.
Most states require a liscense AND a certain amount of training.

depends. I don't know much about how this works but who do you have to pay the 100 bucks to? I'd contact the city or company headquarters to find out if its legit. good luck.
