jus crazy how we keep putting all this money on a mistake then we cry about proposed universal healthcare but we got all the money in the world for this screw up. so let me get this straight send the troops to iraq but then ont give em any healthcare when they come home ? is that support for the troops

To me it sounds very odd to want to spend another 190 billion dollars for a war that should have never taken place. A war based on lies and false innuendos started by oil thirsty madmen in the white house. How can Americans not see what is going on?

As long as Republicans are backing up this madman in the white house, there will be no moneys for health care or Katrina or for any other unforeseen disasters, unless taxes are increased to the hilt.

Bush has damaged US for a long time to come. US is in Trillions of dollars in debt. Unless Americans are woken up to the reality of the damage this so called president has inflicted to this country, our children will pay dearly in the years to come. The signs of decline of this once great country are clearly visible; dollar once a mighty currency measure of prosperity is declining, the trust of other countries in us is eroding, and so forth and so on.

We need a drastic and urgent change in our foreign policy and in our economy handling procedures. We need to paralyse this president's powers until next election.

Are you KIDDING ME? OK first off... your so called "False" war... Hillary voted to go... the UN saw the same documentation that we did and all agreed, voted and we went. The problem is that all you Demo-craps LOVE to be a Monday morning Quarterbacks... You all look at the world through rose coloured glasses and with hindsight at best and a day late and billions of dollars short. Secondly... is this about Universal Health Care or Extended Benefits for our wounded troops when they come back? anywho...Hillary's health care rhetoric is half assed at best. We've heard it all before from her and now it is the same crap simply regurgitated except this time she claims that ALL will have health care and that the government will over see the program. Name one program that the federal government has overseen that works, is self sustainable, without corruption and totally self sufficient. I don't know about your tax dollars but I'm not satisfied with MY R.O.I (return on investment for those unintelligible) that I am currently receiving from my Government. The closest you can come is the Post Office as we pour millions if not billions into an antiquated system. Here's a question to ponder Mr. CommyDem. Who is going to pay the cost for all of the illegal immigrants that in here in this Country? You? It's easy to sit back and make these argumentative, socialistic policy arguments when you pay hardly anything in taxes due to the fact that you earn next to nothing and have always been handed everything you have by the government. Don't bother to retort by over exaggerating your last years earnings and argue the fact that you are not or have not or have never been on any kind of a social program at some point in your life or have an immediate family member that has as well. No one argrees with Social Programs like she has proposed unless they too have been a recipient of such. #2 stop and think for a moment. The people (all of the intelligent people at least) are SCREAMING for change. Do you realize that you would have to be 46 years old to have voted for someone OTHER than a BUSH or a CLINTON?

Yeah, and the other opportunity costs forgone. How about 190,000 of the most amazing schools? And lots of other social maladies.

Unfortunately war trumps the welfare of the citizenry. I might feel more comfortable with it if would have all started by Iraqis storming the East Coast on ships and jets (not 9/11 -separate thing in my book). We should be going after the Saudis and Western Pakistan - we already got the Taliban. And Osama? He's really that crafty to evade us all these years? Yeah right. He's probably set-up with a tight flat and expense account compliments of US tax payers somewhere in Belgium!

What does iraq, have to do with universial health care ?

You could take every penny that has been spent in iraq since the war started, and it still wouldn't pay for 6 months worth of universial health care.

That would be like saying, your wife bought a candy bar and now you caouldn't afford to buy a house.

So when you can tell us, where the trillion dollars each and every year, to fund universial health care is gonna come from.

Then maybe someone will listen to you.

See how it says "Provide" for defense, but "Promote" for "General Welfare"???

I recommend you read something called "The Constitution of the United States of America" and research both war and healthcare as enumerated duties / powers of the federal government. Then read the Amendments and research if there are any limitations put on the federal government's powers.

You will find therein the answer to your question.

iraq is a welfare state and is nothing but a drag on our economy while all indicators are that it actually makes the war on terror worse.

all because bush is too stubborn to admit that he made a mistake.

never have so many suffered so much to benefit so few...
