I live on the north west corner of the great plains. Drought is most noticable in arid and semi arid temperate climate zones. One of the easiest to studie is the climate cycle of central Austrailia as they have a consistant drought cycle that recures over 3-4 years so the plants and animals have special adaptations. The most devastating droughts in the last decades have occured in Africa.
