My favorite is the giant spider that my neighbor constructs every year out of PVC pipe and trash bags full of leaves in the front of his yard. It takes up the WHOLE yard. It is HUGE. He makes that and we stretch spider web under the whole thing. I always get tripped up and fall on my face at LEAST once...lol. But we have lots of fun doing it.
We make hot chocolate and invite the kids from the neighborhood to all get out and start decorating the 'hood'. Halloween is a big deal here.

As not one who usually gets into Halloween I found myself buying a witch flying on a broom with the words
"The Witch Is In" to hang on my front door. It was fun!

if you have a tree in your front yard, its the guy who "jumps" out of the tree, but you are in the tree, and the guy is on a pulley system, you pull it down, he goes down, you pull it up. he goes back up, when kids go to get the candy, and when they come back, you pull the string down, and it scares them, and they drop their bags, and u have more candy
