We bought the house Friday and we are not even done with the yard. We still have the other side of the house to rake up and pull out weeds. In the house we have pulled up all carpet and pulled down all panel. This is a 1860 sq ft home so for two ppl this is alot of sq ft. We have manage to get all of the tac strips up too but we still have to pull out all staples and trust me there are alot. Is there someway I can get stuff done faster that I dont know about. I really dont have any money in my buget to hire anyone and my mom and dad have helped me out. If you could let me know any ideas, any suggestion on how this could be faster process...please let me know.

All I could recommend is to go one room at a time. Since there is so much square footage, you could work with one empty room at a time. Have a few work parties, that might help. Good Luck and congrats on your new home.

Set up a schedule, one room at a time but try and keep track of the time it takes u...Dont rush but push yourself...that way u will catch a rhythm, and get used to the work...Everything takes time,w/ the resources to buy hired help, there is only so much one man can do even workin around the clock...Everything you start finish, make sure you pick a path which minimizes backtrackin as much as possible, make notes for each room on what u did and things u noticed it needs...Take the trash out the house often, with it being just you, it can accumilate pertty fast, if there is an infestation it will be easier to find and handle if you dont let stuff pile up so it can trap heat light and dust, which can cause these things to grow and spread...Homes always a mold and germs, its not a problem just dont let them become one...Good luck, and trust, ill be doin the same thing here soon...its worth it though.

I agree with the others. Do not tear up all the rooms at one time. You will have a mess throughout the house and each time you see it, you will get depressed. I would start with main rooms where at least you can see results when you come in the door. Leave the flooring til last as you will be bringing materials in and taking some out. I made this mistake once. Tore out a bedroom, kitchen and bath. It was overwelming to look at. I had to regroup and do one room at a time.

One room at a time, get it completely finished before going to the next room.

Yes, it will take a lot of time. Slow down and take some time off for yourselves every once in awhile. It cannot be finished over night working by yourself. Get this in your head, get use to it.

I applaud your efforts.
