There is 3 inches cut off on each side of the page now. It never used to be like this. my laptop is a gateway 17'' widescreen.

There is 3 inches of white on each side of the page. Its not F11 or minimizing or maximizing the page. The images from the page don't take up the whole screen. some pages do though.

yeah I know what you mean - answers here: Im on a 15.4 wide and theres 3 inches or so off of each side of the web page form.

unfortunately I think it depends on the page youre browsing: I've tried everything here from video options to F11 to Ctrl+Scroll and still nothing.

Its probably that Yahoo is not supporting widescreen formatting for whatever silly reason they have. if you look in the blank space its even formatted with these diagonal stripes which leads me to beleive its intentional for whatever reason: so they know that theres white space but they wont format the pagecode so that it accomodates a widescreen aspect.

you'll notice though many sites do support it though: Another example that doesnt though is Bebo and myspace, whereas sites like Wikipedia and Google support it fully.

Is it just your "Internet" that's cut off or everything. If you changed to a resolution that doesn't fit your screen your viewing size will be smaller. Otherwise click the maximize button on the top left of your web browser. If using IE you can press f11 for Full Screen.

first try maximizing your browser size by clicking on the middle picture in the top right between the minus sign and the x. If that fails then do the following.

Your screen settings probably got changed it happens.

Right click anywhere on your desktop (but not on an icon)

Left click properites

Click on SETTINGS tab in the window that opens and raise your screen resolution until it is right. you may have to do this 2-3 times but it is probably 1024 by 768.

That should d o it

Did you recently change the resolution of your desktop, or alter the DPI or font size setting?

Yahoo operates on fixed width web page designs, so if your browser window goes wider than that fixed horizontal resolution then Yahoo fills the sides of the browser with blank space.

Widescreens are particularly bad for this as they have shorter and wider screens, giving bigger bands o each side.

You could always not maximise the browser window.

Try maximizing your page size, press F11 on your keyboard or (click on the little square, that's on the very top
right- corner of your page).

It could be as simple as maximizing the size of your browser.

Is there black space on the sides between the edge of your screen and yahoo? If there is you might have adjusted the width of the viewable area of you monitor settings.
