Can you have unprotected sex during your 7 day break and then not take a the new pill from a new pack? I'm not very comfortable on the pill, and do not want to start a new one. Also, is it safe to stop and start on pills if at a later month i feel like going on the pill again? does anyone know?

If you intend to not restart your pills, then you should use backup contraception. While it is highly unlikely that pregnancy might occur, there is ALWAYS the possibility (remember, the pill is only 98% effective if taken EXACTLY as it should be...which you would not be doing if you stopped using them).

Also, you should not go on and off the pill....either stay on, or stay off. The switching back and forth can really mess up your natural hormone cycles and cause all sorts of bleeding issues.

if you are planning on stopping the pill, then use protection immediately. If you are planning on starting a new pack, then it is okay to have unprotected sex during that seven day break from the pill. However - the pill prevents ovulation and if you do not take it you can ovulate. Since sperm can live for up to 7 days (average of 3-5) I would not have unprotected sex if you're not planning on starting a new pack. And yes, you can start and stop at a later month if you feel you want to go on it again.

First I want to let you know, if you get pregnant, dont be coming to me for alimony lol. My girlfriend was on the pill, and we were told that it is okay to have sex while on the 7 day break.I don't know many guys who want to have sex with a bleeding woman, but hey, whatever floats their boat. But you should never stop taking the pill cold turkey.Talk to whomever gave you the pill.It is best to either take it or dont take it. You cant flip flop between, because each pill acts on the pill before and after it.However, alittle trick I found out: if you have unprotected sex and the guy ejaculates into you, you can take 4-6 of the pills as emergency birth control, within 48 hours. But thats a last resort, as taking that many birth control pills will most likely make you fell as if your dieing.

You should NOT have unprotected sex during your pill break. That's normally when you would have your period, and you run the risk of pregnancy. If you are uncomfortable on the pill, you should talk to your doctor about alternatives. Don't just stop the pill for a month, and then start again when you decide to have sex. Messing with your hormones will cause you grief, and not protect against pregnancy. I was on the pill for years until it made me really sick. Now I use the patch, and it works well for me.

You should never have unprotected sex EVER. I would only suggest doing it if you are married and you are both monogamous and have been tested. And you can't just stop and start the pill whenever you want, it won't be effective.

NO. do not have unprotected sex unless you want the risk of getting pregnant.
stopping and starting the pill might reduce the effectiveness.

Even taking the pills as prescribed you risk a chance of getting pregnant as NO contraceptive is 100% effective!

Yes of course you can have sex during the break of your pill, you can have sex every day of the mnth when on the pill, if you are a new beginer, depending on the day you took the pill for the first day, you will have to use a bareer protection for maybe a month; if you took it any other day that was not a day of your period.

Good luck! ;D

I've heard that it is not good to go back and forth on birth control as far as being on and off because of the drastic stress it puts on your hormones. This could completely mess up your cycle or do more damage than you would want. My suggestion is to either find a birth control method you feel comfortable with or just stick to the old fashion method of using condoms.

There is no safe sex. STD's and pregnancies are always possible. The pill is not something t be inconsistent about as even with conscientious use there is a failure rate..
