I believer that if you fail 3 times, you should go to mandatory driver training. I can understand failing due to nervousness but not 3 times. In that case, you are not learning how to drive properly. Here in Toronto a few years back, a driving instructor and a ministry tester were busted for "passing" people who had failed several times (of course for money). They still don't know how many people are driving around that have not passed properly.

Hi I reckeon they should be allowed to keep retaking it again and again, as from knowing other people who have passed there test, its not just about a person being unable to drive properly, its what actaully happend whilst on your driving test. and also what your person who is giving you the test is like.
They can fail you on anything if they want to. My brother failed twice and both times it was just his luck it happend to him and anyone would of done the same in his situation, but because he was on his test he got failed for it. If that hadbt happend to him then he would off passed by far.
Nerves is all a big part of it too, and making stupid mistakes that you would never do driving normally with a person in the car like the instructor. If the driving instructor that is teaching you to drive think you are ready to go infor your test then they are right, If they were not right then and you kept taking lesson after lesson then there just making money out of the leaner driver.
I think now the driving test people they fail you 3 times just to make over 100 quid and then pass you after that. its a bit of a conicidence.

I thought that if you failed your practical test then after a short time your written test was invalid and you had to sit that again. This would mean waiting for a written test date and therefore give you a waiting period before you could resit your practical test again. I think that the written test is only valid for 3 months or so. I may be wrong but I'm sure I read this somewhere.

No, i passed mine 2nd time by the way... and YEARS ago
its only a test, some people are just bad at tests and being tested and you are only learning how to pass a test, not really learning how to drive.. i think that usualy the people who pass thier test first time are usualy the over confident, and bad drivers.
There are often some quite good drivers who havent passed there test, or took a few times to pass, you just dont start leaning how to drive untill well after getting your own can, i wish some (not all) of the younger crappy drivers, who think they are perfect after passing a 20min test in the middle of the day.. on slow roads... would understand this.
its not all bad though, keep smiling :-)

No, I don't think they should have to wait that long. Here's why. My brother (who is an excellent driver) failed his test 3 times, and all for pretty dumb reasons. Things like putting on his seat belt late (after he started to pull out), waiting a few seconds too long at a stop sign (being too careful) and turning on his turn signal too early should not have kept him from driving. Six months later he would have been just as careful. He needed that license to get to school and work.

Well it takes about six months anyway when the test needs to be retaken because of the waiting list . People should be able to take the test over and over again , as most times it is only nerves stopping them passing the test . So the more they do it the nerves will go and it will help them to pass .

I think that there should be tighter regulations on this.
The instructors sometimes give breaks and let them pass, and then they cause accidents because they really dont know how to drive yet.
In my eyes if you fail the road test you should have to study and practice again for 3 months before you take it again.

hi Shariq, i'm an ex using instructor and might furnish help to. From what you have suggested, i think of the examiner has taken care of you somewhat unfairly while it is composed of signalling around parked automobiles. it is purely needed while and if the automobiles are obstructing your view of the line forward. case in point it may well be completely needed to show actual to circulate around a bus, yet no longer parked automobiles that don't limit your view lots. Plus they are mandatory in case you experience that a sign might income the different street consumers e.g pedestrians, oncoming site visitors and so on. i might have an extremely in intensity communicate inclusive of your instructor as to furnish you an intensive lesson plan for the areas that choose addressing. this could carry you as much as known. Secondly, you are able to (in case you choose to) whinge with regard to the habit the way the try became undertaken by way of the examiner and contest the try. in spite of the consequence, the alternative of the try that became given on the day of the try purely isn't overturned. besides the shown fact that in case you do win the argument, you will get your next try paid for by way of the DSA. And optimistically they would be certain you get a various examiner on that next try. i wish this helps. ultimate of success.

Not sure if any rules have changed since I passed my driving test but I think that there should be a minimum to the number of lessons that you have to have prior to taking test. I also think people should not be able to drive on the motorway until they have completed a number of motorway driving lessons.

No - You don't need the stress of having to take your theory again because the certificate has expired. Keep taking it is my advice, but make sure you take notice of what you failed on (was it the same thing each time?) and practice in between.
