the negative was taken last night and the faint line was the one that i did this morning....could this be a false positive??

Chances are a false negative. Morning urine is stronger too so more chance of accurate result!!
Any faint positive is still positive - congrats!!!

First morning urine is the most concentrated, so if you are going to get a positive early on.......that is when you're most likely to get one. The test you took last night was with less concentrated urine, so if you are early on in your pregnancy, the hormone is relatively low and in less concentrated urine you'll get a false negative.
Test again tomorrow morning with first morning urine, and see if you get another positive. That's what I would do anyway, just to be sure. My opinion is that you're pregnant, and got a false negative last night and you're really early on.

The best time to test is in the morning because this is the time the HCG levels are the highest. False positives are not really common last night may have been wrong because your HCG level was low. Also HCG levels double everyday. So they are also hight today anyway

You are unlikely to get a false positive. False negatives are pretty common. It is best to use your first morning urine as the concentration of HCG will be higher. I would retest again tomorrow morning. Based on your two tests, I would think it is likely you are pregnant, but I would test again in the morning.

I had 2 negative hpt, but my period is still late, my boobs are bigger and hurt, i feel sick a lot, i'm tired loads, my tummy has swollen and i'm gurning so much!!
My Dr has still recommended that I take another test as my hormone level might not have been high enough to show up "positive" on the test...
Fingers crossed this might finally happen for me!!

false positives almost never happen. when i was pregnant, i took 2 tests in an hour.. the first was half a line and very light and the second was still pretty light but darker than the first.

Testing in the morning is more accurate than testing at night. Take another test in a couple days, btu make sure you test first thing!!!

i presumed that any line, no matter how faint, ability you're pregnant. yet i assume there is in basic terms one thank you to verify, pass and see a doctor or purchase yet another attempt day after today :) stable success!

It could be that you're testing to early. Wait a couple days and take another test.

do it again tomorrow morning.. if you get another faint line.. you are more than likely pregnant.. congrats if you are and if not, baby dust your way
