Were other mothers and mothers-to-be out there worried that something would be wrong with your child when he or she was born? I have had a healthy pregnancy so far, I am young and healthy, but I can't help feel that there is this possibility that something could be wrong with my baby. I have only had one ultrasound (which they told me is typical) and everything checked out perfectly. Other than that, I just have normal appointments every other week where the doctors check my BP, baby's heart rate, etc.

I guess I just want to know if this feeling is normal, or if I am going to worry myself into a panic, and has anyone else gone through this? Would I know by now if something was wrong?

Very normal. My first was normal. With my second I had to have an amnio cause one of my tests came back that he had downs... wrong. And with my second it showed that one of his kidneys is smaller than the other and they really kept an eye on him. I had 5 ultrasounds by the end of it. He's just fine. I think that it's all a part of being a mother. It's our job to worry. It doesn't stop there though it goes on through out their whole lives. No matter how old they get you will always worry.

I'm 31 weeks and I've thought about that at least once a day since I first found out I was pregnant. I know its completely normal to worry, yet I cant help to wonder whats going on in there. I want to protect her from everything, and right now I feel helpless. I even turned down my moms offer to get a 3D ultra-sound because I didn't want to see anything that could possibly make me worry even more.

It will only increase after she is born. Worrying if she is getting enough food, if she is warm enough, ect. And I might go completely crazy when she becomes a teenager. But to worry about someone only shows that you care about him/her.

Good luck, and try not to go completely insane.

It's absolutley normal! If everything is normal to the docs, then you have all the good baby dust! I will say this though, after your baby is born, if you feel something is ever wrong, a cough that sounds funny, a fever that feels different, or anything that you feel is not quite right, listen to your gut. You're the mom and you know your baby better than anyone else!

of course i'm sure a lot of us had the same worries. i thought for sure something would be wrong with my baby because i had drank /smoked in the early weeks of pregancy, not knowing i was with child.

further into the pregnancy i had tremendous stress. i thought for sure that would cause problems.

my baby couldn't be any more perfect healthy and happy.

you can't worry about it. you just have to take care of yourself and feel good that you are doing the best you can.

many mothers go thru this, just like anything we are worriers as humans we like to plan for everything and everything isn't always in our control. the likelyhood is that everything is fine wtih your and your baby so just try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy and the peace and quiet that you have right now because in a few weeks your life will be turned upside down!! good luck!

I think it is perfectly normal to have worries like that. I know I did with both my children and they are both healthy, bright and happy. The unknown is always a bit scary and I think it would be unnatural NOT to have concerns like yours. Try not to get too worked up.
