It's possible, but not at all likely. It wouldn't be particularly advisable to download a game from a source that you don't know to be reliable, even if you did pay for it.

Yes. When I worked at Packard Bell, a virus was being burned onto what the managers said were chips, because somebody installed a virus in the computer that held the info. The same thing could happen to CD disks.

often, they try to ad annoying programs that are not necessary, but usually give you an option to not instal it, like those AOL trials, or adware that takes memory, or other more unnecessary programs. if the computer is not hooked to the internet, these programs usually will not be able to do much. With games, often you can play a game over the internet with other people, that may be more risky, but often is safe...it is the people you need to think about, and what access other players will have to your system...each game is different. you would need to research each game you plan to buy, and the exact version.

Actually, I was just reading about an incident where this German company accidentally infected their brand new laptops with a 13 year old virus.

Now, you should really qualify that..

A new game, bought at full price, from a reputable high-street dealer will have have very little chance of having a virus.

A 'new' game, bought at a reduced price, from a non-reputable dealer will have every chance of having a virus.

as long as you notice a disc with the right artwork on it (like the artwork on the disc itself) then you need to be positive becuase the unique sport discs are acceptable secure and so hackers can not somewhat bypass directly to them and alter stuff. in case you get a sparkling like cd-rom disc although then i could be a splash iffy. an excellent thank you to study for stuff like that's to envision the comments and broking rankings for the guy you acquire the disc from on ebay. If the guy has a extreme delight score then odds are that he's valid.
