They have the best record in baseball as of today. Plus they have two 18 game winners and ran through what is thought of as the toughest division in baseball.

Well, Maybe the central was the toughest, but not anymore. I will say though, I don't think the Indians get the credit for a great season because they are the Indians. Now, I am a huge Tribe fan, born and raised in Cleveland and still live in Northeast Ohio.
Now, that being said, I watch the Indians, listen to them, follow them on a daily basis. People who are Indians fans appreciate the team of gutsy, hard nosed players. Fans of other teams don't see these guys every day. They don't see the little things that are being done. They also don't see the way these boys have become a "team" from the pies in the face to the ENTIRE team on the top step of the dugout every inning of every game. It is just a really neat thing to be able to watch daily.
They don't have a flashy over paid superstar and they don't play in a big market. That is why they are gonna sneak into the playoffs and pull off the surprise of a lifetime and sneak up on folks and win it all, just like the Marlins did to them in '97.

I say GO GET 'EM TRIBE!!!

There is no way the AL central is the toughest division in baseball. Chicago and and KC are among the worst teams in the majors and Minnesota barely put up a fight this year. Detroit is a great team but the AL East has 3 teams with 80 wins and 2 teams with 90+ wins. The NL West is the best division in baseball with 4 teams over the 80 win mark.

Don't get me wrong Cleveland has had a very impressive year they dominated their division specifically the Tigers, but the AL Central had a down year. Still Cleveland won the games they had to.

Just to compare the Yankees had a .732 win percentage against the AL Central this year, just imagine if they played in the AL Central, the same win percentage wouuld have equaled 6 more wins than the Indians had.

"and ran through what is thought of as the toughest division in baseball."
That may have been true at the beginning of the season but no one has thought that for a long time...3 of the 5 teams are under .500....that being said I think the Indians have a great team and are playing excellent baseball right now...I see them getting to the ALCS where they will meet the Red Sox.

I think the Indians get the credit they deserve from BASEBALL Fans.
Where they lack is the respect from people that are simply the fan of a specific team.

When people only pay attention to baseball when it involves their own small world, the type of people that won't watch the world series if there isn't someone they can vote for, they have blinders on anyway and you are only getting love from the fans that only see Cleveland.

However, I am from the Toronto area, so I get exposed to NY and Boston, Bal and TB and I have enough belief in the Indians to have put $20 on them in Vegas.

Go Indians.

I've noticed the same thing, but, for all it's worth, the Indians have had the 3rd most Divsion titles since the MLB switched to a Division format in 1994 (and would've had 8 had it not been for that wretched strike).

got me, I have asked that before too.

Plus, the Indians have had a crazy season, they had their first series snowed out, played their full home opener in Milwaukee instead of at home, and tonight they play one game that would have been a home game in Seattle. They have overcome alot. If it had been Boston or NY do that, ESPN would have been all over it.

The Twins are barely under .500, they are .490 and they are also playing the Tigers right now. They also had a little slump but the that division is still tough.

Because writers and broadcasters like the Yankee Red Sox thing.

I thought that the Tribe would win the Division last year. No surprise here.
