I've been on the Atkins diet for 8 weeks. I lost 10lbs during the first 2 weeks. I have been at the exact same weight for the last 6 weeks. I don't know why I'm in a stall. I'm doing it right and exercising. I've tried switching up my diet. I took a week off of exercising to see if I was gaining muscle. No matter what I do the scale won't budge. Neither up or down (No, it's not broken). I use the ketone strips and they range from moderate to large but are always colored. My clothes aren't looser either.

I'm thinking about taking 1 day off and eating carbs and sugar and then get back on Atkins to try to jump-start it. Do you think it'll work? I need to lose 30lbs before the holidays!

NO don't jump off the band wagon, are you drinking enough water? limit caffeine & no alcohol drinks. alcohol will stall it.
If you want to eat carbs make sure they are the right ones vegies, fruit ect not a sugar dump as you are talking about

I had a similar experience. Then I change to The Carbohydrate Addict's Diet, which is similar, but counts calories (more or less) and allows you to eat whatever you want once a day. The weight loss is slower, (1-2 lbs a week), but it's great in many other ways. You're not as deprived and your sugar levels are more in control, so you actually feel better all over. I bought the book by drs Rachel and Richard Heller and it helped a lot, but I think you can also get some online help for free. Just type it in your search engine and a bunch of stuff will pop up.

Best of luck. I know how frustrating it can be, but try to be patient and healthy.

Atkins is the worst diet for you. Ask an nutritionist, or almost anyone with a right mind. You can do a complete fact check if you dont believe me...our bodies absolutly NEED carbs. They are essential to our bodies. Just like your car needs a certain amount of gas to go, our bodies need carbs for the same reason. Carbohyrates are our bodies brain foods. Our bodies breaks down carbs. into glucose, which is then used as fuel to run our essential functions such as thinking, talking, walking etc What will happen, is when you start eating carbs again, your body will soak up those carbs and store them as fat because you were essentially starving it of its fuel, and it doesnt know when your gonna do that again.Try weight watchers. I lost 70 pounds in 3 1/2 months. Although I was 100 pounds overweight rather than your 30, I guarantee you'll lose that 30 pounds if you stick to weight watchers for the next 3 months. I would even be willing to bet you a thousand dollars, no joke either!

NO..Atkins only works well when you have a lot of weight to lose. When you dont you will be lucky to lose an ounce a week while on atkins. if you arent losing any more weight and are being religioius, just switch to a low-fat diet. That is the best and fastest way to lose weight.

I don't know what to tell you. Most people don't experience a plateau for a least a couple of months. If you have the actual Atkins book, it has a 3 day crash diet plan that might get you started again.

Either too many carbs that aren't being acknowledged, any amount of alcohol, or the fact that your body has shut down and is storing everything you eat b/c it is starving. You could be overexercising for you calorie intake as well.

As long as you are turning Keto sticks you are burning fat, your body may be adding water to compensate. Eventually you will see a dramatic weight loss.
