I would very much indeed not like to belong to any partial province or domain. I would indeed rather love to be able to, and so be allowed to, combine and thus ever heuristically lustfully indulge in, the venturous delving into glowing truth and into dazzling beauty where truth may be utmost beautiful and where lustful beauty may be dazzlingly truthful.
Some, or many others, may want to more or less strictly dichotomize, but I rather wouldn't. I sincerely think that our venture and our teleology should be made the object of a holistic approach that may bring about an apotheosis where hunger for truth and lust for beauty may be ensured the holistic glowing dazzling fulfilment.
Thank you and a great day to you too!

Hi,
I think I may have to belong to the Western province of balance between truth, beauty and light.
My first answer was going to be the north because I hunger for truth and do not have a lust for beauty i.e. physical beauty but there are other forms of beauty:
the beauty of nature, I so lust after this that I now live in the countryside
the beauty of art/music and poetry: something I will always have a respect for
the beauty of spirit.
Beauty as they say is in the eye of the beholder and within a battered shell could lie a beautiful pearl: a pearl of wisdom, love, friendship ... so many beatiful things in this life.

Well, if you mean physical beauty of the human sort, then lust for that is so limiting because no matter how beautiful a person is now, time erodes it all. But to lust for what is beautiful about life, our world, simply the magnificence of our being, a flower, the sky, the smile of a baby, well that I do not feel that lust is the polar opposite of a hunger for truth. I believe they are in the same hemisphere and one in the same.

I belong to the northern province hungering for truth (though truth can have a beauty to it--even if it is sometimes a harsh beauty).

I see virtues in both areas; however, since I am from the south, I would have to say the latter. I say that because I feel truth is a part of the beauty that I would lust for.

Following the path as it leads toward
The darkness in the north
Weary strangers' faces show their sympathy
They've seen that hope before
And if you want to stay for a little bit
Rest your aching limbs for a little bit
For you the night is beckoning
And now you can't delay
You hear the night birds calling you
But you can't catch the words they say
And you must you realize be on your way
Mystery swelling, creatures crawling
Hear the roar get louder in your ears
You know the folly was your own
But the force behind can't conquer all your fears

Don't you think you've labeled them biasedly, dear friend? But the truth is also in your words: hunger, lust; both signify that we NEED them. So, no matter where we belong to, we should start a journey towards the equator of balance -- where there is no differentiation between truth and beauty.
Bon voyage, mon ami. :D

There is no 'lust' for beauty and for truth there is either satisfaction or starvation each in there turn. More likely a person would be lonely for beauty or home sick and if beauty abroad helps sustain a persons life, then it is hunger for beauty.
The Will is positive, the Judgment is negative.
