In the beginning of my pregnancy till about 27 weeks I actually ate less then what I did before I was pregnant. And I was gaining weight normal. Now Ive been stuffing my face and I went to the doctor at 34 weeks and I had gained almost 10 lbs in 2 weeks!! I never had any stretch marks till about a week ago, now I have them on both of my thighs!! I am wondering if any other moms have experienced this? a very LARGE appetite toward the end ?! I guess I should lay off the cake and big macs :)!!

thanks !

Be very careful about the large appetite!!! My experience with my first baby sounds just like yours, lots of weight gain and hunger in the end of pregnancy. I was 125 and 5'4" pre pregnancy, and 6 weeks after (as well as 2 years after) I was consistently 165. Don't deny yourself or baby food, but eat wisely, 5 or so small meals made up of fruits and veggies, and maybe one treat per day, like a big mac or a small piece of cake. My new favorite treat with this pregnancy is ice cream, I can't seem to get enough, but I've been buying frozen yogurt and topping it with fresh fruit to help fill my belly.

Cravings can get really badmy wife had them badly with both pregnancies. She decided to eat healthy 3 times a day and snacks in between and drank lots of water. Then when the cravings for fatty foods came along she was not feeling too empty in the tummy and so she'd just have a couple of small bites of whatever she was craving instead of eating the whole thing. Like if she was craving two big macs and two large fries with a large coke(yummy), she'd order a small happy meal with orange juice.

She'd also drink lots of water and milk. Sometimes we just confuse thirst with hunger. Remember that it's not that easy to shed all those pregnancy pounds that you are gaining. Opt for a fruit, salad, water or a good walk instead. Good luck.

It is very normal to have the hungry horrors in the last 6 weeks because that is when the baby gains the most weight. Up until now all the babies growing was developing the organs and such now is when the baby gains the chub.

There is nothing wrong with eating, try to eat healthy but don't deny your cravings. You have them for a reason. I craved spicy foods and fat with my daughter and steak and strawberry's with my son. The doctor told me to eat the healthy stuff first then indulge. I gained 41 with my daughter and 20 with my son, I had healthier cravings with my son.

Nothing is worse than being hungry and pregnant so do what just feels right.

Good luck!

Eh, it's probably normal. Your main concern should be your baby's weight and you said that was good. Listen to your body when it tells you that you're hungry just try to make most of your choices healthier. Remember it's only 5 more weeks and your baby will be out and the pounds will still be there.

im the opposite im not eating as much..maybe twice a day..but i never got that whole "eating for two" thing and when i do eat i eat healthy no junk food. be careful when eating too much try to chose healthier foods you dont want to have to work to hard to get your figure back.
