Nope, you resigned, and they do not have to give you back your job. It sounds as if the district manager is glad that you are leaving. Will your current manager give you a reference letter? I would try to get it now while you can.
In the meantime, make sure your resume is in perfect form and get it sent out.

Seriously, I would be glad for the chance to exit on good terms. Your HR department won't call you back, your manager has screamed at you and now they aren't trying to let you stay. I say, screw 'em. You can surely find another job somewhere else that you can use your skills at and that you will love. Who wants to work with a bunch of dorks like that??

Unfortunately at this point they may just want you to leave. If that is the case, your only recourse is to make it clear that you are not resigning . . .it may help with unemployment but may hurt in finding a new job. Write a letter to HR telling them that you are not resigning. See what the reply is and go from there. There is really no legal issue here, they can terminate you if they wish absent any unlawful discrimination.

Unfortunately, no. It sounds as if they want to put the whole thing behind them (although no return call from HR is ridiculous). You should put it behind you too and find something better. Hopefully in your new job you won't get screamed at. That is so unprofessional!!! I'm sorry you're going through this!

Lesson learned from this. Never let anybody make you quit a job that you love. Even a manager. Fuss back at them. Especially if you don't have another one lined up.

Write a letter explaining your side and submitting it to your district manager.
I had seen this once with a General Manager doing the same thing, and corporate let him go and he was never welcomed back.
He did not write a letter explaining his side, and I think that if he did, he may have been able to keep his job.
Try it, it may work.

I would keep calling human resources. It is unacceptable to be verbally abused at work and they need to be made aware of it. If she is doing that to you I bet she is doing it to other people and they need to know about the abuse. You have the right to work in a non abusive environment and are owed an apology from your DM For sure!
Good Luck!

Ask the manager who yelled at you to make a call to the HR dept. Maybe she can get something done that you can't
