i thought it was ok and she looked good to me, epsecially after 2 kids

a few years ago, her performances could rival Madonna or Michael Jackson, but now she is a shell of herself and that makes it even worse. We have seen much better from her and now it is just sad.

I think the reason it has gotten such terrible reviews is 3-fold.
First, she used to perform with such energy. She used to be in perfect shape. So, she was being compared to her former self (which I think most of us would look awful compared to our 17 year-old selves)
Second, the performance was super hyped. "It's Britney's come back. Everybody get excited! She is going to be a star again!!!! She will prove all the nay-sayers wrong." But, it wasn't amazing. It was mediocre. And because it didn't live up to expectaions and hopes, it is now viewed as awful....it's like hearing all your friends talk about how fabulous a movie is but when you see it you don't think it is a good as they said so it leaves you severely disappointed.
And lastly, people like drama. People (Media) want someone to talk about. If her performance had been fabulous they could have used that material for a couple days, but because it wasn't they could hold onto it forever. In 2 years they will still be playing that footage. Everytime Britney does something less than brilliant in the eye of the media, they can remind us all of her "embarrassing" performance.
So that's what I think.

it was bad compared to the performances she used to do. to me it looked like she was doing a practice dance just kindof half way doing the moves and not following thru with it at all. also it was a very simple dance, something that anybody could do. she used to do some much more advanced moves that he average person can't do with out a lot of practice. i agree that her body looked great but the outfit wasn't super flattering but no matter what her body looked like she was going to get flack for it. i hope i look like that after i have 2 kids.

Compare with her performance years ago. You could see the big change. I know that her body is ok but if you see Madonna's who also have children...If you wanna know how does people think, see the face of the people in the concert!

Yep. She looked bored, stoned, and a little hungover. She was in NO SHAPE to wear that little outfit (basically underwear). Her lip-syncing was half-@ssed. Her dancing looked unrehearsed. She made no eye contact with the audience or camera. Can someone say "hot mess"?

I didn't think it was that bad and I'm not sure what everyone was expecting really.
I think shes performed better in the past but everyone should cut her some slack because it was her first big performance in ages.

It's not her looks.. I thought she also looked good after two kids. It's the fact that she put NO energy into it. She didn't even try and she didn't even lipsync on time.

it was pretty terrible. i think it's because she used to be so good at performing. i saw her in concert when i was like 10 and she did a great job...but at the vma's it was like she was just so tired or whatever that she couldnt even dance.....and her lip-syncing was off. it just wasnt as good as it couldve been. everyone was expecting more for her big comeback.

IT wasnt bad and it wasnt good either! it could have been better! she isnt as good as she used to be!! I think that she could have done a lot better if she was a good mom and wasnt so stressed about the custody battle!!
BUT that is my opinion, and that is what i believe was wrong!

It was terrible. She was tired, and she couldn't hardly dance, her lip syncing was off. It could have been so much better than it was. I was expecting alittle bit better, considering this was supposed to be her big comeback.
