Of course he is lying about the hotel room and you know why he is wanting a divorce, but just don't want to admit it. The truth is that its already over. I would just let him go and move on....he already has.

Good luck

So he wants a divorce? Good, now get thee hence to a good attorney and have a typical split of everything; you get all the assets and money; he gets all the liabilities and bills. 50/50, right? Don't forget the alimony, car, house, savings account, retirement account, yada. There are many fish in the sea and rich women can pick and chose.

At this stage of the game..well...who cares if he tells you. It seems pretty clear that something is afoot.

Oh yeah...all us men go out and get hotel rooms for our 'friends'. Especially if that 'friend' is a member of the opposite sex.

Get the drift sweetie? Find a good lawyer (although 'good' and 'lawyer' should never be used in the same sentence).

He has a girlfriend. That is the only explanation. She told him that she is going to leave him if he does not leave you...and she probably does sexual things for him that you have never thought of. Guys do not think with their heads. Ask him what you can do to change if you are willing to work on it. If you aren't tell him to back his bags and get the f out. Good luck and I am sorry you are hurt.

So sorry you are going through this, and I hate to be the one to point out the fact that it sounds like there is someone else. But you probably already know that, but don't want to face it. Stay strong!

He's got a new lady friend, with out a doubt.
So hire a PI, and get video and photo proof.
Once proof is obtained....then you be the one to file for divorce

Divorce him. Obviously he's already moved on in his mind so why don't you? He doesn't sound as if he's worth your trouble or time.
