Hey New York Chic, it's so cool to hear that you liked your stay at the Atalntis Hotel...Cause guess what, that's where my husband and I met! You're right Atlantis is a very beautiful resort and there is lots of things to do there.
We now live in N.Y.C with our two kids because of that fateful day in the Bahamas:)

you guys for sharing your stories with me. They were all very interesting. Hoping to one day purchase a summer house in Nassau or one of it's islands would be a nice place to get away from the hustle of life once in awhile.

Hi.
I was on vacation in Florida with my family and we went on a mini cruise to the Bahamas about 15 years ago now.
We spent the day there and i was only about 10 at the time, so i cannot really remember much. What i do remember and what has stuck in my mind was how friendly the locals where and how beautiful the beach was, lol.
I would definitely visit again in the future because its hard to give an opinion on a destination if you've only spent a day there and i was only 10 after all.

Yes, I went to visit a friend who lives there when I was 15. It was so much fun!! She lives on an island called Inagua. I didn't see any other tourists there, lol. The weather was beautiful, and there were so many shooting starts at night. We did go to Nassua for a couple days while I was there too. MUCH different. Still very cool, but lots of tourists...and lots of locals trying to make money off of them. There are all kinds of street vendors and women asking to braid hair. GREAT seafood, as you can imagine (if you like seafood). Just a really fun place to vacation. The people there all seem so happy and laid back. I can't wait to go back someday!

I have been to the bahamas 9 times - I guess that answers your question as to if I like it.
I love getting away - it really doesn't matter where I go.
The bahamas is a beautiful place - pretty hot though especially in the summer.
I just like sitting on the beach and looking at the light blue water. I like the tropical music. The scenery, etc . . .

ive been there on a cruise.. first we stopped in nassau.. and it was interesting. being that me and my friend are girls, we were getting looked up and down by these old creepy men. kinda weird. but other than that it was beautiful! we even stopped at the atlantis hotel.. *awesome*. then at the end of the cruise we went to a private island for the cruise lines only. and it was amazing, white sand, crystal clear water.. ahhh! :D

Very nice people there
Shopping not so hot.
Nice place to visit for the day as part of a cruise package.
i dont think i would stay there for a week or a few days.
Anna Nicole is god there and Howard stern is the scum of the earth.

yes i have!! it is absolutely gorgeous, i want to go back again!!! we stayed at the Atlantis resort! they have everything on this resort, you dont even need to leave unless you want to swim with the dolphins or go on tours!!! i recommend going, you will not have a bad time at all!! i cant wait to go back!!
