I use Windows Media Player. I want to take all the music I have a put it on DVD for a back-up. The problem is I dont know how to do this, and when it's burnt into the DVD will it be converted so when I want to put the music into a new computer it will then be in a different format (example: mp3 to protected mp3)? 10 points to anyone who can give me instruction that accually work!!!

First up any WMP up to 10 will only burn cd's not DVD's.
You can copy @ 150 to 200 tracks in MP3 format using WMP onto one disc, choose a block of 150 tracks and copy them to a play list, next, choose the option "copy to cd or device"
In the left hand pane (items to copy) at the top click the little blue arow to highlight the playlist to copy, once you have done this, the list will come up on the left hand side, on the right hand pane at the top click on the blue arrow to show the available formats with which you can copy, choose cd drive(:d) (where drive d is you cd rom) and click on the highMAT selection below.
Next insert you cd-r/rw into the cd drive and click on copy to cd.

Simple as that, good luck.

Don't waste a DVD disc, save that for actual DVDs
Instead use an MP3 disc to burn your songs into if you
want to preserve the MP3 format.

Just drag the files to your burning software, when finished you can open them as if they were in your computer,
