Actually, democracy is a very poor choice of government.
In an actual democracy, because the majority of the people's vote on anything wins, you are subject to the wisdom of the people. let me give you a quick example: Let's say that the people decide that they want free health care, a strong military, and advancements in welfare and education, but, at the same time abolish taxes. The problem here is that the government goes bankrupt and the people are then ungoverned. People aren't usually able to govern themselves very well on their own.

This is precisely why, when the United States was founded, the founders rejected a true democracy and opted for a constitutional republic, which remains the way the United States of America governs themselves today.

The best form of government seems to be a constitutional republic, like ours here in America, where the people have say-so through who they elect, but the elected officials have the final say so after looking at things through trained and professional eyes (at least ideally).

Churchill once said that democracy was the worst form of government ever devised, but it was better than all the rest.

maybe a dictatorship would be easier, 'just so long as I'm the dictator'

actually, we don't know, do we....we don't have a democracy...we a representative republic with democratic elections of people who then go off and do whatever they want, forgetting us.

At one time Democracy was the best form of Government. But now you see what Democracy has wrought: Corruption ! Corruption has allowed people to rise to the surface that you would not normally see. People who aspire for Ultimate and Absolute Power ! Democracy may have become its worst enemy !

Democracy is a terrible form of government. It pins the majority against the minority. Luckily unlike what most people think in America, we do not have a Democracy we have a Republic.

yes and no,

The reasons are simple enough,

Yes, democracy if fallowed to the letter and uncorrupted would be the best and easiest form of government,

No, because as with all things that involve money, power, and the rule of law, the human factor has a major tendency to be self serving and disregard the larger picture of benefiting the group

No. True democracy is chaos. The entire population would have to decide issues. There would be no written laws. People could change their minds from one day to the next.

Democracy is too unwieldy to work in today's world. You can only have a democracy with a limited population. With today's population numbers, the only thing that will work is a republic, like the US.
