My friend made me banana bread with chocolate chips. It was so good.

Two were gifts I received, and one is what I made and gave that others loved. The two I received: one was a Raggedy Ann doll--I just love her! The other was a plate of all different kinds of home-made cookies. The one I made that others loved was a jar of layers of ingredients, (flour, brown sugar, oatmeal, coconut, crushed walnuts, -I forget what else), and then I covered the top with a circle of Christmas material that I cut out w/ pinking scissors, and tied a ribbon of yarn around the lid to keep the circle on. I attached the recipe to the yarn. (They had to add the wet ingredients when they used it). The next year I also included a spatula and/ or wooden spoon from the dollar store. Good luck! It's so fun making gifts for people, and sure is helpful to do so when you have to pinch pennies.

Those gifts in a jar, such as cookie mix or soup mix are nice, if you know someone's favorites. Homemade Christmas ornaments are nice if you know someone likes a variety of ornaments on their tree.

Last Christmas I made carved and painted candles for some of my friends and family. I went to Hobby Lobby when they had them on sale and got different color paint.
-I did one set of 3 with our school colors (LSU). I did purple candles and carved a letter into each of them with a few paw prints. I put gold paint in the carved out areas to make it stand out.
-I did another set of there with a gold Fleur-de-lis on the tall ivory candle. I had two smaller ivory candles that just painted speckled gold.
-I also did another set with polka dots, vertical stripes, and horizontal wavy lines.
You have to be careful though because paint doesn't like to stick and dry on wax very well. Just put it on as thin as you can so it can dry quickly.

My daughter makes a kicking good pesto. She buys nice lil jars from the 99 cent store and makes the pesto and wraps in nice cloth. Its just fancy enough to make it look brilliant. Or buy some nice teddybear type material and make pillows to match those blankets.

You should try to make candles or soap for girls. Go to Hobby Lobby and you can find the materials needed. Also, I love giving silk flowers in wooden vases. I buy the flowers when they are 1/2 off @ Hobby Lobby.

In preschool my son made me a snowglobe out of a plastic 7up bottle, glitter, water and little tiny platic army men. It's really cute. He's 16 now and I still cherish it over anything.

I had a good friend crochet matching tablecloth, place-mates and napkins for me. She used my favourite colours and they complemented my dishes perfectly. I'm not nearly as clever, and I was thrilled that someone would spend that much time to personalize a gift.

I DID THIS FOR MOST OF THE IMPERSONAL GIFTS (BOSS, TEACHER,COWORKER.....ETC)
GO TO MICHAELS OR A CRAFT STORE, GET THE STYROFOAM CONES, THEN GOT TO YOUR LOCAL GROCERY STORE (ANYPLACE THAT HAS THE WRAPPED HARD CANDIES, LIKE BUTTERSCOTCH)
THEN USE PINS (STRAIGHT PINS BOUT AN INCH LONG)
TO PIN THE CANDIES ALL OVER THE CONE......
VOILA, INSTANT (KINDA) CANDY TREE!!
OR YOU COULD USE THE PLASTIC SEWING CANVAS' AND YARN TO MAKE LITTLE STARS AND CIRCULAR ORNAMENTS, AND YOU CAN CUT OUT THE CENTERS OF EACH AND PUT A POETIC SAYING IN THE MIDDLE (USE A GLUE GUN, TRUST ME)

Well, my grandma always knits sweaters for us all for Christmas (we all get the same colour and she chooses a different colour every year).
I really find it very sweet and honestly I look forward to my new one every season!
