The French government has publically condemned Iran's nuclear program as a threat to world peace and stability.Specifically, the French have stated that the aquisistion of nuclear arms by Iran is unacceptable and they have called for further UN sanctions against Iran.I'm wondering what the Liberal spin/thoughts are on this.Should the world take positive steps to keep Iran from developing nuclear power and the resultant fissionable(weapons grade) material?

tdeer3,
interesting statement, however it appears to me that the Liberal agenda is one of appeasement and isolation. They constantly call for a withdrawel from the region as well as a ceasation of the spread of democratic ideals to what are considered to be oppressed people of the world. It confounds me that they call for a withdrawel and then say that the nations security is important to them.Must we be attacked AGAIN before they choose to act or can we and the world take positive and decisive action to prevent an attack from occuring?

Why do you think the liberals agree with Iranian nuclear program? I never hear Hillary Clinton or Obama say that it's OK for Iran to have nuclear weapon. Please quit throwing mud at the liberals' images because all presidents, whether conservative or liberal, will put the national interest as their priority.

I always laugh so hard when some neo-con's mouthpieces keep saying that by electing a democratic president, we will be unsafe from terrorist ( we hear that all the times whenever an election comes closer). How much more ignorant these people would be is beyond my understanding.

Asker???
Isolation?appesemence? cessation of spreading democracy???? where did he get all these ideas? Where are the reasoning and proofs? did he study Anerican history and other democratic presidents at all?

Yes, Iran must be prevented from obtaining weapons grade nuclear material.

If Iran can make fuel for nuclear power plants, the same technology can be use to produce weapons grade material.

Iran has a history of supplying terrorist groups and its nuclear facilities are not all that secure.

If Iran were to develop weapons grade nuclear material there is a very high risk that either the government of Iran or rogue elements within that government would transfer weapons grade nuclear material to terrorists.

With weapons grade nuclear material it is relatively easy to make a crude nuclear weapon and smuggle that weapon into the target country in a shipping contaiiner.

If terrorists were to get a nuclear weapon or weapons grade nuclear material from Iran, the inevitable result would be the start of World War III.

The liberals would probably come out with some idiotic spin such as: Jack Chirac would never have insulted a sovereign country like Iran. And, France has now become the puppet of Bush.

France has awakened from the dead, finally! They too realize what a threat this is for the free world. It boggles the mind that so many people can't see what's happening.

These people don't care about their own lives. After all, they're going to be greeted by numerous 'virgins'. So the concern of death means nothing to them.

Its great we finally have a real leader of France who sees the danger of Iran and now is willing to lead the UN in putting some real punishment on the Iranian government if they continue with their lies about their nuclear program.

If Iran wants a nuke all they would have to do is buy one from Russia, China, North Korea, any of a number of countries,. They do not need another government telling them what they can and can not do. Look at it this way, if they were to use a nuke, do you think they wouldn't be decimated by a counter attack. Of course they would, Our government needs to mind it's own business before they make every country our enemy.

France. The same country that sent agents to blow up the Greenpeace ship Rainbow Warrior in New Zealand(at least 2 dead). The same country that carried out nuclear tests in the pacific. France is a has-been joke with delusions of grandeur.
What gives America the moral right to have a nuclear weapons arsenal, and then try to prevent others the same right ? How is that democratic ?
