Extreme trolls are bad but what is a straw man arguement?

Because the trolls are trying to manipulate people by planting false facts in their conscious, and more dangerously, in their unconscious minds.

It's just like gossip and rumors. When you hear something bad about someone, you may actually believe it whether it's true or not. But if you later find out it that the gossip wasn't true, you still have lingering doubts about the person who was the subject of the gossip.

Lingering doubts or a vague feeling of unease may be enough to cause a voter to punch or press the button for a rival candidate. And of course, these doubts are based on manipulative lies and associations and have nothing to do with the qualifications of any of the candidates. The long and the short of it is that these trolls undermine our democracy by planting misinformation

Since most who participate in here are pretty literate, and thus usually intelligent, I think they recognize trolls and trollish arguments, and give them little or no credibility.

Anything to an extreme is dangerous.
Trolling is just an extreme need for attention and I wouldn't be surprised if some people not just in Y!A but all over the internet are actually mentally ill.
Kind of sad, really.

It always amazes me the way the trolls have them eating out of the palm of their hands.

It is people like that who have divided this country more than at any time in history with the exception of the Civil War. Those people are dangerous. The scary part is there are a whole lot of them.

Because they're the most vocal. They are walking stereotypes that allow people to justify not giving the other sides arguments fair and unbiased consideration.

Well......... cons think trolling is justified because Yahoo supposedly discriminates against them.

Completely unprovable and a dumb thing to do if you were Yahoo - but there it is.
