Donut is accepted in crosswords or scrabble but the original term was doughnut. They both appear in websters dictionary with the definition for donut being one word: doughnut!

i couldnt give a shite....... as long as they're tasty.
mmmmmm...i like them either glazed or if they have to have a filling it'd have to be cream and if they insist on putting jam, just a tiny bit.......oh god some girls like diamonds, others like chocolate but i loooove DONUTS, i sould eat one every minute of the day, but due to the fact i dont want to resemble vanessa feltz on a bad day, i eat them very rarely
