On our invitations (it was a second wedding for both of us and I wanted to make sure people understood we didn't want gifts) We simply printed "No Gifts please - your presence is all we need!"

It made the guests both releived not to be burdened with the question of wether or not to bring a gift and made some feel special that they were being included in our special day.

You could specify No Gifts.......Donations direct to (specified charity) instead if you desire........Some people may make an anonomous donation to the charity you have chosen, but most will take this as a clear indication that NO GIFTS means just that!

Ooh toughy maybe you could put a note on the invites saying thanks for the gifts you received...that way acknowledging to everyone that you have already received the gifts?

Put it on the bottom of the invitation.

Please no gifts. We simply want friends and relatives to share in our special celebration of love for one another
