Democracy: George Soros is known for funding groups such as MoveOn.org that seek to manipulate public opinion. So why is the billionaire's backing of what he believes in problematic? In a word: transparency.

I agree that Soros is a threat to our freedoms (thats two days in a row I have agreed with you on something, scary). It isn't necessarily Soros that is the problem though. If you eliminate Soros, there will be another activist billionaire in line to take up his or her causes. There are certainly enough conservative and neo-conservative wealthy people that fund secretive organizations which are a threat also.

The problem is money and politics. We need real campaign finance reform in order to get politicians with backbone.

DWIGHT: What?

To smoke is healthy, reassures you Dr. Marlboro!
Could be really a nice uhhm controversical debate
with John Players (ken and the barely veiling shador)
Enemies of freedom are the social cavemen of the
3rd millennium. Still I would not suggest to "eliminate"
them - it's too close to the customary wording in some
countries from which Murdoch fled obviously 50 years
ago before he was embraced in the USA same as all
the less cowardly hence confessing Nazis. I suggest
impatriating them in international zoos - they could be
of use yet - very good as bad examples in an exhibition.

Soros is one man, we all know where he stands, he has the same rights as anyone to support and express his opinions.
Since hes not running for anything, and you already know about him why does he need to be transparent to you?
You must think democracy is very delicate if one man can bring it down.
There are others on the right who do the same thing, the Clinton dogging didn't come about because of what Clinton did, it came about because he had powerful enemies.
Or you believe an illiterate tramp reads political magazines and gets upset because everyone in Arkansas knows that Paula is her.

This is no different from the various conservative causes that have been funded by billionaires. Rupert Murdoch is a billionaire and he seeks to manipulate public opinion with his various media in the US, the UK, and Australia. (Think Fox News!)

Soros is using his money to shape an America to his liking. He does in fact hide behind his front groups like Move-on to achieve his aims.

He has found willing dupes in the liberals here in the USA to do his dirty work for him. Most do not know him or of him, they only read what others of similar mind think so then Soros gets traction.

It is the useful idiots again thinking they are doing what "Feels good"

He is a dangerous man, he is not concerned about righteousness, if he were, he would be trying to corrupt Islamic interests with his money. The Islamists are insane but they cannot be bought like the American left.

His influence will wane if we end up with a liberal or another Clinton as President. While it is painful, such a Presidency will assure Republican dominance when the bombs start going off in American streets.

Soro's, who would trust a guy with all his money who wont even brush his teeth.

It's a free country. Anyone is entitled to try to manipulate public opinion. There are a lot of right-wingers and organizations doing the same-- are THEY a threat?

Only if their policy objectives are inimical to individual rights. Soros is not. I'm nto so sure about the right-wingers.

Transparency would be good. Then some of these idiots may see that Soros owns 1.8 million shares in Halliburton, a company that all these idiots love to demonize.

Many people have no idea who George Soros is, where he comes from, what nationality he is, or what his motivations are. With all his money, you would think he would be above politics. No matter who gets in office, he stays rich. The only thing I can guess is, he just likes Socialism. Perhaps he believes that if Socialism takes hold in the US, he might be able to get in line to run it. Personally, I trust this guy less than Hillary Clinton. At least you have the opportunity to ask her what her plans are.

The Democratic voter has little knowledge that George Soros is running their Party. Most have never heard of his name. Many think MoveOn.org is an anti-war group and not the group Soro set up to make it look like Clinton was being impeached for sex instead of a felony of Obstruction of Justice and Perjury.

His plan worked very well as many Democrats of today have no clue that Clinton was impeached of anything other than having sex with Monica.

They also are unaware how moveon.org, under Soro's direction has threatened any Democrat to toe the Moveon.org line or they will attack them. You will see from my video what impact he has on them. Two of these members that voted against the troops got over 1 million dollars for moveon.org.

I'm surprised that so many Democrats are so uneducated of what they are following and who they are really following. After Kerry screwed up, Soros said he wouldn't let that happen again and he actually hurt Kerry as Kerry is looked on very much as a joke now. Soros was upset with Kerry's flip/flop of being a hero and then being a war protestor. He wanted to keep the war protestor out of the mix and likewise Hillary is wising up with the appearance of supporting the war more.

Here is how Soros works. He funds one group that funds another group. It is all legal but he makes it hidden since so many groups of his are donating to other groups that it is hard to see what impact he has.

He has two other billionaire friends. The one that made "hostile takeover" a household term, Peter Lewis. He is the one that owned Progressive insurance and fired so many people over the years that were near retirement with hostile takeover to make a company lean and mean, then turn around and sell it for a profit.

All three support legalized drugs but this is all about money. They have their investments where it will do them the most and their control of Democratic politics is so they can manipulate it for their own profit.

It doesn't matter to them if they are controlling Democrats or Republicans but their problem is that there are too many rich people in the Republican Party and they can't use their strong arm tactics with them.

I guarantee you that those Democrats in public office knows that Soros is one to be reckoned with and knows not to mention his name in public or they will get the kiss of death.

Almost every Democrat is funded by Soro's by one of his PACs that are funded by each other to hide his name. The Democrats know this but the voters are generally unaware and certainly unaware of the extent.

I see there is an attempt at comparison with Rupert Murdoch. They don't know what "rich" is and they don't know what "control" is.

Soros is the one that "Broke the bank of England." And that isn't just a "term" but the truth. He is not simply making news, in fact he tries to hide any news. This is about funneling money and using attack advertisements to get his way. Very much aggressive.

As we all know the Democratic Party is leaning more and more to socialism, but this isn't by chance. This is all Soro's doings and they are following it like good little lemming as they don't have the slightest clue.

I think that I will add that from this question I see that many liberals don't really know what "really" rich is all about. If you got more than a million, then you are just rich, they think. They don't know that there are a class of billionaires that look down on other billionaires as "poor" or struggling. Yeah, that statement is true, it is.
