Is it really better to have loved and lost than to not have loved at all? And if so, then why?

Yes, a life without experiencing love is not a life worth living. Sure you are likely to have your heart broken a few times but you also experience great happiness when you are in love and being loved back.

It's better to loved and have lost because at least you tried. If you didn't love someone and weren't love then you would be very lonely.
