Thoughts: Why did it take so freaking long!!
I agree with you, I don't think that Griese is the long term solution to the Bear's QB situation. But who knows....he may be... Give him time to get some playing time. Don't yank him after a few bad plays. Remember, Rex pretty much was a one man WRECKSing crew. And Lovie left him in for 2 years too long!

I'm happy about it, though I'd rather see Orton on the field. But then again, that comes from an exceptionally biased place, as Kyle's a Boilermaker. But biases aside, I think this is a long time coming. They have a lot of offensive problems to fix, but Grossman seems to be the biggest. Grossman hasn't shown improvement over last year, he just got worse. You can't play like that and hang on to the starting position. Maybe they sit Rex a game or two to "teach him a lesson" and he goes back out as the starter. Maybe this shatters what little confidence he had left and he's done.

Well Rex was doing nothing. You can tell that he's like a little kid. When things are going GR8 he's all smiles. When he makes mistakes he doesn't get upset with himself.
They need a spark and hopefully Griese can do that.
Rex's contract will not be renewed wait and see. He's making millions for doing nothing. If he hasn't developed into a mature NFL QB by now, it's time for him to find a new line of work.

I agree it cant get much worse but I am not sure that Greise is starting. The media seems to be reporting it as fact even though they are only saying that because Lovie hasnt stated that "Rex is our quarterback". He hasnt said that Greise is his quarterback either. Greise is a backup I would prefer to see Orton in there myself. I think he has the bigger upside. I expect fewer mistakes out of Greise but also fewer big plays. Wait Rex hasnt had any big plays this year either.
It cant get any worse.
12:05 - Greise gets the nod.
Why is Rex still #2 he should be 3 or even 4

Brian Griese is definitely an upgrade from Rex...I think for the long term, maybe the team should be working with Kyle Orton...

I am so excited.. Lovie made the comment yesterday that the all positions will be determined by the next practice. He usually supports Rex after a bad game, but he even asked, "Will Rex start the next game?"
In a way, I do kind of feel bad for Rex because when he has his game face on.. its a good face. But, his bad times can cost us an entire season. He was so bad offensively on Sunday that even the defense gave up.

They have to make a change or the team will implode. Lovie has to do it for team morale. A team has to have at least some confidence that their QB will be at least a little productive.
