I used to give blood every six months without fail as I have a rare blood group. Mine is apparently only 3% of the population.
AB, I have to carry a card around in case I need a transfusion.

I no longer give blood at all because Terminally Ill patients cannot give.
There is nothing wrong with my blood, and I don't have a disease but the strain that giving blood would put on my system may do a lot of damage.

I would encourage anyone and everyone to give blood as it WILL save somebodies life.

My wife almost died and would of without a transfusion.
My heartfelt thanks to everyone that donated a little time and a piece of themselves to save a wonderful woman

I do, regularly, but just for a laugh, I'll tell you why my wife does not.

The blood transfusion folk won't take her blood because she has had a blood transfusion. She got the transfusion from ME, and they are quite happy to drain me dry several times a year, but if the rules say she can't give blood, then it's more than somebody's job is worth to let her.

Because I gave it a fortnigh a go instead, been a blood donor since I was 22, one day things might change and you may be able to give it yourself too.

I have some sort of health reason for not being able to give blood. I have high blood pressure and therefore they won't let me give blood.

I`d love to, but I have been ill for a week, so it isn`t a good idea. I will give blood this winter.

Good question!
I gave blood 4 years ago, I felt it was my public duty - i was very nervous because I don't like injections, got myself all worked up and unfortunately fainted afterwards. then they had the cheek to say "no thankyou, we don't want you again because you fainted" How fussy can you get?!
