Sometimes you do not know.

At times you may see one or more of the interviewers nodding their head in agreement. You may be given a very positive statement at the conclusion. You are not asked any questions that are uncomfortable to you.

The real question is how can you improve your interview techniques.

Arrive promptly.

Dress appropriately. Speak loudly enough to be heard easily by everyone.

Smile when appropriate.

Thank them for the opportunity to be interviewed.

Send a brief note after the interview.

Do not read from notes that you have prepared.

Bring pertinent materials with you such as transcript, recommendation letters and past observation reports.

Prepare yourself with knowledge about the school.

Prepare answers to questions that you think you will be asked. Some items might include why you want to work in this school, solving problems that the school has, listing your strengths and describing your weakness. Be prepared also to add something that was not brought up during the interview that will put you into a favorite light.

Good luck

One of the indicators I used to go by is theamount of time that the interviewer took with you. If it was supposed to be a half hour interview and he took longer, then this is a good indicator. Less than a half hour, not so good.

Obviously, if they offer you the job, the interview went well, like wise if you are called back for a second interview with higher up officials.

A good technique to use in interviewing is to write to those interviewers after they have hired someone else and ask them what you might be able to change to make yourself more desirable as a candidate. Some will be open and honest and in this way you can gain insight for your next interview.

If they hire you on the spot, if they call you back, or if they talk like you are already hired.
