It all seems very strange and unbelievable. A newspaper has even confirmed it is Madeleine.

Tim, I cant decide if you are a dimwit, or just Trancebabes sockpuppet.
You say "the way you did your thinking it's straight not with ifs and buts and guess what it makes sense for anybody who are intelligent enough who can distinguish a carrot from a melon...
Have a star."
Well (apart from the abysmal lack of punctuation) I don't agree.
.......
Lets look at the opening post
"Do you think it is feasable that someone could be travelling in a car at 70km per hour and in the distance recognise a child strapped to an old womans back"
1) the car, apparently, was driving slowly.
2) no matter how fast it was driving, it is possible to get a reasonable shot out of a moving car window.
3) the child was not recognised immediatley
"take your camera out that you just happen to have to hand and take a photo and that the child pokes its head over the grandmothers back just at the right moment"
4) travellers carry cameras... and may well have them 'to hand'
5) the fact that the child was looking in the right direction is neither here nor there. If she was looking the other way, there would be no story.
"Apart from the fact that a 4 year old would be too big and heavy to carry strapped to the back of an OLD woman"
6) ever seen a travel documentary? Native bearers carry huge burdens.. men, women and even - yes - little old ladies
"To me, it doesn't make sense"
- OK, well you havent thought about it very well, have you
"Please don't come back at me full of bile and hatred"
well, you seem to have an agenda (and anyone who has read any of your past Q's & A's knows exactly what that agenda is)
but there is no bile here - I am merely addressing (and demolishing) your points
{edit - later} - so, now we know.. It's not madeleine, but the picture is genuine (not photoshoppped) and the people who reported it were sincere.
I see some one has suggested that this has been released to taked pressure off the parents... a silly suggestion because it pre-supposes that there is a conspiracy between the photographers and the parents.. also it is a silly idea because it has been disproved so quickly... as was bound to happen with a genuine, misidentified child.

As someone is driving you along you focus your camera on the thing you want to take a picture of then you take the picture. The only trick is that you need to move the camera 'back' as the car is moving forward to stay focused on the subject the same way you would move your head to keep looking at something as the car is driving by it. It's very easy and effective. You get better results with better quality cameras obviously and it might not work as well with some of these new point and shoots that have to analyze the picture for three seconds before it actually takes the picture. It also works better, in my opinion, with things that are farther away because it doesn't take as long for the car to drive out of the view, (say a barn in a field) as with something closer like people walking along the side of the road. Also, you can take a bunch of pics and your time schedule is not impeded by continually having to stop.
This is an extremely easy thing to replicate and I suggest you try it and then see if you think it would really work.
Where did you read that the photographer was going 70mph?

This photo is fake. I take loads of pics from a moving car as I have a friend in the USA who loves to see UK scenery and even when I have the camera ready to take what I spot as we are approaching , more often than not I don't quite get the correct angle, or the wing mirror or side of the window is in the way, or it is blurry. I just don't believe that this woman would be able to take such a pic from a moving car on the spur of the moment.I think the child could be Maddy but it was photoshopped on to the pic afterwards.

I'm not convinced it IS Madeleine, but the woman who took the picture didn't take it thinking she was snapping the missing girl.
She was taking random photos of Moroccan life, and it was only this week when she downloaded the photos that she realised the possible significance of this particular snapshot.
It would be too much of a coincidence if it did turn out to be Madeleine though.

I don't believe its Madeleine. The child in the photo looks no older than 2 yrs old. Gerry & Kate saw this pic approx 3 wks ago and didn't think it was her.
Its been released to cause to turn people's opinions - how can the McCanns be guilty if "Madeleine" has been spotted.

The woman who took it was on news saying she just took a photograph of the people due to culture ect and I have very often taken photo's abroad of people doing natural things native to that country.
It was when she got home and put them on computor that she saw it may be Madaline.
I have also seen children being carried on backs like this if it is her they would have had to keep her restrained somehow.
In saying all that they have now got these photographic forensic people on the case so time will tell.
I think the child looks to young for her but does have a resembalance to her but so does my 5 yrs old neice!!

I do believe it is possible to be on a tour bus at an undetermined speed, given the condition of the roads, it would be more feasible that it is around 30mph or less. As a tourist, out site seeing, it is also likely that a camera would be to hand, it is also feasible that, as the lady who took the photograph said, she was in the process of taking snaps anyway. I lived in Africa for 18 years and you are more likely to see a child of this size on an adults back than walking great distances (their pace would slow the adults down), the head would be visible, as in the photograph under discussion.

I saw the photo and it does look like Madeleine. But you have made many good points. A 4 year old is to heavy to carry let alone an old woman carrying her.
I pray that Madeleine is alive but for some reason this photo is to good to be true.

a child of 4 would not be too heavy to carry, especially not on your back. My son is 6 and a half and i still carry him if he is tired or we are walking some distance etc. i normally carry him on my hip, it would be even easier again on my back as the weight gets distrubed more evenly. Madeleine has only just turned 4, she is not a porky or chunky kid, so perfectly reasonable that a granny could and probably would carry her for speed and to make the walk easier for the child

Almost anything is feasible, whether it is likely however, is up to the individual.
We all hope that it is Madeline, and that she will be traced and found well.
Nonetheless, surely this photo is worthy of the maximum investigation, utilising every conceivable scientific process, and an enquiry to find this woman, even if it's just to eliminate her from the on going investigation.
