i have a macbook running os x v 10.4.10 and almost all my image files have the little file thing that says what kind of file it is as the icon (like this: http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd91/grafixcentral/Picture2.png ). when i open the images in photoshop and i save them, then a small preview of the image shows up instead. how can i change all of my images to have the little preview without just opening and saving them all in photoshop?

In Os 10.4 or older, you would need some sort of batch image conversion application. You could even write an AppleScript to do this using the Preview application. The Finder (the basic OS X file viewing system) does not yet have this ability. OS 10.5 (Leopard) will have this with its Quick Look feature. See the link below. There may be some third party application you could use, such as Dropicon, that will do this in 10.4, see the link below.
