I am an avid FF fan and have done them all from no.6 up to 12 (The latest one)
Where does Dirge Of Cerberus fit into the FF series? Last time I was in Midgar, playing the original FF7, they didn't have mobile phones etc and Vincent Valentine was a cute little guy in red cape found in a coffin in the vault of Shinra mansion. He now looks like some kind of sexy gothic stud. Whatever next? The females all look like pin ups, but then that's nothing new for Square-Enix.
I couldnt resist having a little go at it this morning and once again, I am amazed at the total differences in game play storyline & graphics style.
I am assuming we will not see Cloud in this episode or Chocobo's.

Dirge is set 3 years after FF7 (and thus it is also one year after Advent Children). It is a third person shooter with rather bad controls. Though I did find it worked pretty well with a USB keyboard and mouse.

The main good guys are Vincent, Yuffie, Cait Sith, Reeve, and a new girl whose name is escaping me. Though all the old FF7 good guys appear in cutscenes somewhere (well, not all, but...that's FF7 spoiler-ish). The story focuses on stopping a play to destroy the world (like that's new!) and goes out of its way to really explain Vincent's past.

Vincent was never a cute little guy in a red cape. I'm pretty sure he was the tallest of the team, and his face was obscured. Plus, how do you get cute through Lego-graphics?

I believe Dirge of Cerberus takes place 3 years after the original FF7. I love the FF series, but I personally hated this game. DoC is a shooter, not a RPG. And it's a crappy shooter at that.

Its not a traditional RPG like the rest of the Final Fantasy's we're used to. Its an adventure game with a lot of shooting, and puzzles. But the reason this game is still in our good graces is because it provides some valuable backstory from the FF7 world. If you're a hardcore fan it should fun...i guess.

c'mon it style of looks like he's barely performed the extra modern very final Fantasies, he/she would not be responsive to to any extent further useful. besides, very final fable VII (7) will play on Ps2 and can be bought on the PS3. in comparison to previous very final Fantasies 12 lacks in tale, yet makes up for that in the time of lore, exploration, and content textile. For 12 I propose you spend extra time exploring and getting to understand approximately that is worldwide and doing area quests, the story is familiar, even nonetheless it;s worldwide is probably going one among the few brilliantly fleshed out worlds that human beings tend to ignore approximately only because of the fact they sense bored. that style of inventive value could be praised and applauded. in case you think of issues are too automatic then do no longer use gambits, that's the finished factor suitable to the on and rancid change in the menu, you additionally can tweak your settings if some issues in the pastime nonetheless project you. (in my case it grow to be wait mode and conflict velocity) and that i've got a criticism, why might you play a sequel until now the surely pastime that is blasphemy!!!
