I was told to follow the Food Guide Pyramid & exercise 30 min. to an hour 5 days a week & drink 8-12 glasses of water a day.

Go to this link and play with the stats to see how much you need to lose weight.
Stay away from soda, fast food, and go for the vegetables and fruits. Breads are nice too, but don't overeat them.
