I have a DVD-rom drive. I want to know if there is a way to download anything of the net to teach it to write dvd's? I am trying to not have to buy a drive. I am just curious if drivers can be downloaded to teach it to write or not?

No. It doesn't have the right kind of laser to burn discs.

Bad luck I'm afraid, there are no drivers that will allow you to do this, you'll have to buy an external CD / DVD burner. They're not expensive, maybe pick up a second hand one on Ebay.

If your hardware is not designed to do something, no software will be able to make it do it. Sorry.

You will have to get a DVD drive that can read and write to be able to write dvds.

"I have a DVD-rom drive."? That means it can only play / read DVD disks.

You need a DVD / RW drive to write to a DVD disk. "I am trying to not have to buy a drive." - you have no other choice.

To learn how to burn DVD's, Google for: burn to DVD
