I haven't had a problem with any software running on Vista.

(As long as you have legal copies of it - I have had a few ripped pieces of software not run).

Good luck with your Dell - I have been very happy with both my dell desktop and laptop.

Probably not. You may, I repeat may, be able to change the prog. compatablity. Install game on Vista, Rt click the prog, properties, compatability, tick run this prog etc, choose XP from the drop down menu

There is another option.

Install your existing hard disk into your new system, go into the setup (F2 during startup) disable the Vista hard drive and enable the drive just fitted. System will now boot in XP. Find the new system CD with the drivers on and install them.

When you want to run Vista, simply enable the Vista drive and you start Vista but you will still see your old drive as well.

When you want to run XP simply disable the Vista drive.

If your old drive will not fit into the new system. Contact Dell and tell them you wish to dual boot your new system and can they send you the Vista and drivers cds needed. It may be worth doing that now to see if they will come with the new system. Currently cds are only provided on supply of a new disk or a rebuild is deemed necessary.

If you don't know how to dual boot raise a new question if you need to take this path. The 2 disk option is best as it will allow you to backup valuable files/photos on another physical disk for safety.
