Luvmyfam, Nashville had many tourist attractions for the family. As does Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
Nashville: The Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum I love (though I thought the building was odd looking).
There is a lot to see and you can easily spend most of the day there.
I loved the personal exhibits and costumes best.
The Athena Statue inside the Parthenon is awesome to see.
Spend a half day wandering around Centennial Park.
At times it feels like you are in Athens.
The art galleries are very worth visiting.
Downtown Nashville has lots to see, do a tour of the Union Station, Wyndham Hotel - the architecture and restoration of this building is first class.
You will just adore downtown Nashville, it is alive with music.
Take a leisurely drive through the Hillsboro Village neighbourhood to gawk at the beautifully kept homes and gardens.
If you don't already have accommodation booked, The Opryland Hotel, would be perfect for the kids.
It's amazing.
There is a river with boat rides INSIDE.
From their site:
Under majestic, climate-controlled glass atriums, you'll be surrounded by nine acres of lush indoor gardens, winding rivers and pathways, and sparkling waterfalls where you can unwind, explore, shop, dine, and be entertained to your heart's content. Highlights include a 44-foot waterfall, laser-light and fountain shows, and tours aboard our Delta Flatboats - right inside the hotel.

Check out all the hotels facilities under Fast Facts.
The hotel is in a good location and they also provide an airport shuttle.
There are just so many things to do while visiting Nashville, many that are perfect for kids.
The site below is full of Nashville information; everything from attractions to dining:

Below are relevant links for both Gatlinburg (make sure you ride the Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway)

and Pigeon Forge (of course you will visit Dollywood):

Harley Lady- it's the WILDHORSE Saloon on 2nd ave. down the street from Coyote Ugly. Anyway, besides all the above mentioned things, there are tons of historic, civil war era mansions and plantations to tour- Belle Meade Plantation (also spend some time driving aroound the back streets of belle Meade, one of the richest areas in the country- Al Gore, Tim and Faith, and lots of others live there. Carnton Plantation in Franklin is so cool- still has blood stains on the wood floor from when it was used as an army refuge for wounded soldiers during the battle of Franklin in 1864- and Franklin is a quaint town. Belmont Mansion, near Hillsboro Village, was once owned by one of the richest women in the country in the mid 1800's- a rare thing, for sure. The Hermitage, Pres. Andrew Jackson's home is in the Hermitage area of Nashville, and is very beautiful. If you have time, check out Radnor Lake and take a walk around the whole lake- it's about 2 miles and the most beautiful scenery. Also, Warner Parks has some great walking/hiking trails that are lovely this time of year. Of course, the honky tonks are playing music on lower Broadway 24 hours a day- but be sure to check out "Printer's Alley" a couple streets over. And don't forget the Ryman Auditorium, the original home of the Grand Ol Opry. The new Opry performs most of the year at its new home next to the Opry Mills Mall.
Gatlinburg has an aquarium and lots of fun shopping and craft areas and is close to Pigeon Forge with more shopping, live shows and DOllywood. Since you'll be so close, you should take a short drive to the Smokies and do the Cade's Cove loop which is beautiful, especially this time of year! Have fun!!!!

Nashville..We love dancing on the bar at Coyote Ugly. And, going down the street to the White Horse and taking a few dance lessons. The atmosphere is wonderful downtown. We went out to the Grand Ole Opry Hotel. You can actually take boat rides in the center of it. There are shops and a beautiful garden. There is plenty of information once you get down there on what to do.
