People say it grows faster and thicker but that's not true. The "hair" on your body can only grow to a certian amount of thickness. Hair grows at the same speed it was growing so probably if the eyebrows you have right now will take the number of years you have been living for so far. I don't think it's a good idea to shave them off. Because you cut off the eyebrows, the front part (all hair starts off as thin) will be cut off and it will look thicker. It works the same way as your hair on your head. The thickness of the hair on your arm is the thickness of the hair you had first so just keep that in mind. Shave off your eyebrows if you think you can stay without eyebrows for quite some time... I mean years.

Shaving hair with hopes of it growing back darker, thicker or longer is a HAIR MYTH. And if you're dumb enough to believe that your hair will actually grow in darker, then I suppose you'd be dumb enough to try it too.

You can read about the hair myth here, and it also explains the reasons as to why it grows in looking thicker and darker. As for the length, that does not change a bit. Hair on our body is programmed to only grow to a certain length, as someone above said, otherwise we'd be walking around with a train of hair following our bodies if we didn't shave and people would be stepping all over everyone's hair. http://www.snopes.com/oldwives/hairgrow.asp

As for how long it will take if you decide to be that dumb...I can tell you not very long. When I tweeze a few hairs from my brows it takes them about 3 weeks to grow back to their normal length. With shaving it would be much shorter because you're cutting the hair AT the surface. Plucking the hairs out causes them to have to start all over so they grow on the inside first which usually takes a few days to a week.

The hair will not grow back darker, thicker or coarser. It may feel coarse at first but if you read the link up above you'll see that it's only because the hairs are cut straight across giving the hair a blunt, straight across tip which just makes it look and feel darker and thicker. As the hair grows out it grows to a fine point and then length added to it weighs it down and it becomes soft again as before you started.

If it looks patchy this is because some hairs are older than others so they may have been sitting there for a longer period of time so they'll be the first ones to grow in, whereas the newer hairs that just started growing before you shaved may take a little longer because they haven't been there as long. Brow hairs fall out naturally on their own, just like any other hair on our body.

Assuming you are a guy, and if it bothers you that bad, an easy and cheap way you can make your brows darker is by very lightly brushing some eyeshadow on them in just one shade slightly darker than your natural color. Or you can go to a salon and pay to have them darkened.

Btw...facial hair usually isn't the same exact color as the hair on our heads, some people have dark facial hair including brows with lighter hair on their heads (a lot of French people seem to have this), or the opposite, dark hair and lighter facial hair, my father is like this...he has a medium chestnut brown hair color but his facial hair looks a bit lighter and also more golden/red.

unless you specifically damage the hair follicules, the same exact hair will grow out of the same follicule. It won't be darker or thicker, or whatever other wives tale you have heard. Your hair will however, have the appearance of growing back thicker/darker, because you take a super fine point hair, and chopit off bluntly and it has the illusion of being thicker, but it is still the same hair.

A better option would be for you to just bleach the hairs for 5 - 10 minutes to lighten them up a bit. I would recommend going to a professional for that since it involves chemicals near your eyes.

As far as how long it takes to grow back, entirely up to your body. my eyebrow waxing grows back in about 3 - 4 weeks.

You better be careful in doing this. Eyebrows don't grow back as easily as you may think they will. My grandmother did this, when she was younger, and she said that after shaving them off only two times, they did not grow back at all. And, eyebrows can take quite some time to grow back. I would say that this is a bad idea...dye them!

No, I'll tell you, I accidently caught my eybrows on fire, so I had to shave them before anything worse happened. They growed back in the normal color, and they grow like normal hair so they stick out wierd. So I'd say live with them now, or just dye them.

They will grow back dark with flat tips, not fine and pointed like normal hairs, plus they may be patchy, you would be better off seeking advice fron a beauty counter in a store, try using a darker powder to fill in your brows.

Based on what I had observed on my friend, When she shaved her eyebrow, it didn't get darker, it got harder when it grew back!

If you would want your eyebrow to get darker, I suggest you to dye it in which ever color you desire :)

And if you shave your eyebrows, it'll grow about 2-3 months :D
Depends on what you eat :o (if you eat nutritious foods, it'll help your hair grow faster :) )

Have no idea about the time it will take to grow back or the ensuing colour, but sure I know that the new hair will be pretty rough to feel.
