Well I have alot of personal growth to be proud of....
I would say that the sexual abuse I suffered at the hands of people that I loved, that was a problem that fueled a great deal of the growth in my life.
It forces you to deal with issues that no one wants to deal with, mistrust of men, mistrust of male figures that were supposed to love and protect me, guilt of not being able to stop them, anguish of lost virtues, and many more that are very difficult to list.
When a person takes a problem and changes it into growth of any kind it is a great and wonderful thing.

Love the question!
You are unique!

Being convicted of a drug crime in the early 1970's and serving time in prison... Going through the whole legal process and into the penal system of the Federal government was an eye opener to say the least, it was a crossroads for me as a person. I choose to accept responsibility for my acts, do my time and commit my life to helping others and being a better person. I am an old man now and can look back and feel a sense of accomplishment from this dark event and know that I was able to make a small difference. Needless to say I never returned for another vacation of "3 hots n a cot".

How wonderful it is to have some perspective, dear. After constantly asking yourself what direction your life is going, doesn't it feel great to finally feel as if you know? How very wise you are! Yet all this recent wisdom is exhausting. You feel as though you've made a long trip up to the mountaintop to speak with the learned wise person at the top. Now that you're back down in civilization, it's time to find a soft bed and relax for a bit.

My insecurity. This has caused me to search for a way to find value in myself.
I followed a long, difficult course to find my true self. And I have accepted myself completely, flaws and all.
Rather than dwell on my inadequacies, past and present mistakes, I look for the good in everything.
I'm not perfect; no one is. But chastising myself won't change what has already happened. I go forward each day with a smile. And search for the meaning in each event of my life.

Being away from my parents and family when I was only 12. Being away and could not see my family even once for the next 8 years and left my country when I was 21.
This made me search for God. He has showed me the most divine and complete love. It is all worth it.
