if Mclaren were not being sponsored by Santander of Spain ,I think McLaren would have got rid of him by now ,but Santander are the biggest sponsors and want Alonso to continue till end of season then McLaren will give Alonso the boot, but I dont see any other F1 team taking him on ,hes proved hes too much of a liability to the team and also a danger to other drivers The old saying YE REAP WHAT YOU SOW stands now for Alonso. hes lucky to be still driving for an F1 team

I don't think what he's wrote is particularly harsh. I've written similar things about Alonso many times so I can't say anything other than I agree with the guy who wrote that article.
This season Alonso has shown us his true colours and it really isn't pretty.
Add that to the fact that Hamilton has made Alonso look very average this season and then there's not a lot left to be said in Alonso's defence.
In my opinion, a poor champion and not a great racer.
I will say this, because i don't think Alonso is totally without merit. When he's in the lead or in qualifying he is fast. Maybe someone should recommend a career in rally driving to him. He'd be better suited to that

harsh? maybe, i don't think alonso should be relegated to nascar, but he deserves every bit of criticism, every team out there now needs to realize that if they sign Alonso they can only have one good driver, cause he wont work well with a competitive driver, hence the kimi/alonso combo at ferrari next year, and will he blackmail the next team that doesn't give him his way?
but as for mclarens equal treatment nonsense, i remember juan pablo leading a race ( or at least in the top 3) when a safety car came out mclaren told jpm to pass the pits so they could pit kimi first, bringing kimi up to the top 4 and sending jpm to the mid to back of the pack, so don't tell me ron dennis doesn't play favorites, does anyone here really believe alonso signed the contract with out the understanding that he was going to be the no 1 driver?
but that said alonso is a mess, and though id still pick him for my fantasy f1 team i wouldn't sign him to real f1 team, unless the best second driver i could get was ralph

I feel that for his jealous reaction to LH showing his volatility, backbiting his own team was not the prudent way forward.
In any other company he would have been shown the door.
This is my feeling, and I supported Alonso through '05 and '06...at least Ron was man (mad?)enough to accept the apology and move on (albeit $100,000 and all championship points lighter!)
The media have their own way of putting their opinion across - harshly if the need arises.....

as a McLaren fan i was gutted about all this in-team fighting that was going on. I was especially gutted as i have been an Alonso fan for a while too. i was well happy when he moved to McLaren, but on hind sight i don't think it was such a good idea. Ron himself has taken Alonso's apology and stuck up for him by saying everyone says things they don't mean in the heat of an argument. I agree he did wrong, but if his boss can take forgive him, why can't everyone else. all this has taken the shine off the remaining races for me.

As much as I think what Alonso did was very wrong and selfish, that's a little too harsh.

What he did, the whole threatening thing wasn't really fair considering the fact that he is part of a team. But having it posted like that, harsh...
