Siberia is big (VERY big), so it's really hard to say (imagine someone telling you they are going to the Western U.S. in the fall, but forgetting to mention if they are going to Phoenix or Seattle, so should they pack an umbrella?) Depends on where in Siberia you are. Generally, it's going to be cold, but the cold is likely to be dry, which should make it much easier. The chill factor will depend on where you are going to be; you may or may not be exposed to extreme winds and snowstorms. You may end up on either side of the polar circle, so you may or may not experience the polar night and aurora borealis.

If you are a reader, bring plenty of reading material; you'll find it very effective against indoor boredom.

Just procure warm clothes and shooes... Cold air can provoke toothache. It is also better not to smoke when it is below 15-20 Celsium. Alcohol does not make warm but in fact vice versa. The same climate must be in Canada and Alaska, so nothing unusual (I was in Siberia many times and worked there temporarily)

Please, do not take in account answers about vodka etc. In Siberia lives a lot of people who absolutely don't use such extremal means.
Off course, comfort of climate conditions depends on where you plan to stay - in the big city of in the village. It will be to -40-50C, but usually -15-25C. In cities like Novosibirsk, for example, you should use sheepskin coat or fire coat and fire-lined high boot. In a village place all clothes for winter tourism is good (if you don't want to use felt boots).

If you stay indoors and drink vodka with the locals (by glasses) you should be fine ;-)

Now seriously
It's bound to be cold but -40C in Siberia is better than -20C in Moscow because it's not windy.

You should rather be worried about the amount of snow.
If there is too much, you may get stuck in some god forsaken village for months
