Absolutely! You are in charge of your medical destiny, so start by asking for a woman doctor. Also, don't be afraid of asking questions: Even prepare yourself with a list the day before you go. You have to be curious, in command, and never afraid to ask questions. The only silly questions are the ones that are never asked . . .

Best of luck to you . . .

You have every right to request to see a famale doctor whenever you are at the doctors or even at the hospital. However if they dont have a female doctor you may have to see a male unless you try another clinic but you can request to have a female doctor

Of course you can. It's entirely up to you! Anytime that I would go see someone, I would request a female doctor over a male doctor simply because they're more compassionate than a guy would be. Nothing wrong with that at all.

Yes, you have every right to see a female doctor. You have mentioned that your family doctor is a male & you knows him very well. There is no difference between a male or female doctor, doctor is doctor. Now it is your choice.

You can make a request for a female physician but you would need to do that at the time you schedule your next appt.

My wife will only allow a female to examine her, I know an apointment was cut short when a male doc walked into the room...

Your body...your choice.

Yes you can. You might want to call ahead to make sure she has an appointment available that day though.
