Especially Yahoo! Answers? I can see if you're making a credit card transaction, but how is using Y!A @ school dangerous? Someone on here just told me that.

I think the only way its bad is that you should do your schoolwork but if you finsish it then its fine.

Two ways!
1)Just staying at Yahoo Answers, is not within the control of our dear Yahoo Team, who take lots of sincere efforts to keep it clean, healthy with all those Community Guidelines, and constant vigil, and now that trusted reporter etc!
2) Another danger, children could get 'hold of' really sensible answers on subjects requiring 'intelligence'(from Yahoo Answers) and if these answers are brought forth for discussion with a 'routine' type of teacher, it could be a new type of 'occupational' hazard ! Usually, kids, given the very nature of that age, do not carry good questions all the way from home or elsewhere into that class room, with lots of diversions en route!

Not sure about Y!A - but I know my 16 yr at school they've just made the Internet so damn hard for them to use - everything is blocked.... all the popular sites.. you tube, face book etc... even using it to do research for school assignments they can hardly get anywhere these days.
They are not even allowed to look at their own assignments anymore once they've handed them in (such as film and TV assignments - video clips they have made etc)

There is no difference between the Internet, and the cork bulletin board at your local grocery store.
both are full of stuff
some is out of date
some is a scam
some is helpful
for the most part, its crap that should only take a few minutes of your day.
School is real.... Education is invaluable...
The cork boards can wait until your bored....
