A friend starts belittling a common acquaintance?

If you felt their criticisms were unjustified, would you defend
the person?

for the most part YES. I just did it earlier today. but there are times I can honestly say that keeping my mouth shut was the better opt out.

the key words here (for me anyway) are a friend and an acquaintance. my loyalties are with the friend.
i think i would only speak up if what my friend was saying was not correct.

Yes. But I wouldn't attack the person belittling. I would tell them my own experience is different, and that I disagree though.

Of course, if I didn't say anything in their defense it would be like I am in complete agreement with the criticizer.

Of course I would, I do it all the time...provided I either don't know alot about the acquaintance or I actually like the acquaintance...

But if I don't like them...then screw them, lol.

May be not get involved in the discussion, However after you could have atalk with you friend about it!

Of course I would, I dislike seeing anyone being deliberately put down no matter who is doing it.

of course. i hate seeing people getting picked on. in fact, the very first fight i was in as a kid was because i was sticking up for someone else.

yes it gets me into allot of grief sometimes but i tell them to tell the person to there face becuse i try to do what i want people to do me by

I always do,
they both hate each other,

they are so much alike.
