the key words here (for me anyway) are a friend and an acquaintance. my loyalties are with the friend.
i think i would only speak up if what my friend was saying was not correct.

Yes. But I wouldn't attack the person belittling. I would tell them my own experience is different, and that I disagree though.

Of course I would, I do it all the time...provided I either don't know alot about the acquaintance or I actually like the acquaintance...
But if I don't like them...then screw them, lol.
