For me personally, texting is better because I am a shy person, so I don't like calling people, I can just text them. And I don't get to see my freinds alot either, so it keeps me in touch with them.

in a way it can be advantageous...
like how it can make communication easier, more convenient and faster...
you know how most of us worry about wrong pronunciation, grammar.. those stuff we don't need to worry about when texting....

but somehow it is also disadvantageous...
the way we communicate to each other is worsened ...
because most of tend to text more than to talk, well, it decreases the practice of speech
another is that teenagers are into romances and relationships...
texting is not the most idealistic things in these situations..
you will not know the person easily through texting....

so texting has its advantages and disadvantages depending on how it is used.

I have very mixed feelings on this one... On one hand, texting is nice because you are able to send your message quickly. Say, if the person you are texting is busy, then you haven't really bothered them with a phone call. BUT, I worry that it creates that instant gratification that our society seems to crave. Not to mention the misspelled words...( don't give me the, "but we have spellcheck speech") I also worry that people are not able to carry on a conversation with others face to face. It is too easy to hide behind an electronic device.

I am not sure at what exactly it could make teenagers better... Better at shorthand? Do you even know what that is?

I think it can be both an advantage and a disadvantage. Because, in places like hospitals, wher you cant be using cellphones, you can text. But texting can be very addictive.

texting is a disadvantage. it is really bad for your thumbs and nothing seems quite so personal. people can also use your phone to text others, which is confusing. texting causes people to stop paying attention to their driving. i know a guy who ran into a train because he didnt notice it because he was texting. he's dead now.

I think that Texting is just something that teens use to rob money from their parents. I mean, come on, unlimited texting is $19.99 for 1 month! I think that if teens have phones, they should CALL not TEXT. Calling is cheaper.....especially at night.

i see it as a advantage. you gt what yuo need to say across quicker and words cannot be "interpreted" if you get a bad signal on your phone. and it gives you some time to think about what you say before you text it...
