Unless you are a therapist, counselor, pastor etc suggest he make an appointment with one to discuss his problems.

Often those with an open "listening ear" get taken advantage of because another will unload on them and feel better and the listener is left with the negative feelings!

If this is a good friend who doesn't abuse the favor, go ahead. If it's someone who is "always" wanting someone to hear their woes....don't be their patsy.

A brain that has a chemical deficiency needs special medication to correct it .Talking about your depression will not help in this case. You must tell the person to see a psychiatrist for medication.Strange how the person knows that the problem is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain.

Come to me. I will be waiting for you. You have made the first move to a more positive life. I cannot force you to take the initial step, neither can I force you to change your outlook. What I can do is guide you to the path of self fulfillment and self awareness.
