The 'tween age is so hard to buy for, isn't it?

Spider-Man 3
Pirates of the Caribbean set
Harry Potter set, as mentioned above, or simply the latest movie

Also, think of some classics he might like but never have heard of. Gremlins is a great Christmas movie for tweens--scary, funny, a real classic. Goonies is timeless, and the DVD is full of extras. Also, ask his mother if there are any television shows he particularly enjoys. Often, the DVD sets of the shows have lots of extras for the viewer to enjoy--extended scenes, commentary, etc.

If you want to get him a Christmas movie, "A Christmas Story" is the best movie you can get for a 12 year old boy.

Elf is good, but A Christmas Story will be better.
