there are some really fantastic graffiti art about like by banksey etc................but i really hate people who get spray cans and deface private property with misspelled words and obsenities...................or if they do it on churches or community centres it just shows lack of respect...........

yes indeed graffiti is a art.in most cases the people that do art are more talented than those kids that go to those expensive art schools that everyone cannot afford.the thing that makes graffiti wrong is that it is mutilating private property for the most part.i think that there should be government owned property that allows people to design

Of course it is an art. It is amazing what some people can do with a few simple cans of spray paint. Then of course there are those people who only think that they have an artistic talent. I guess it is like any other art. Some people have a gift and others don't.

being a painter, consider graffiti a form of art but i do not agree with the graffiti artists violating the law to have their work seen.

graffiti art is not the same thing as tagging.
tagging is when someone writes their name and crosses out other peoples.
the art has pictures that tell a story or they are just beautiful images.

yes i feel it is a art it is and expression of some one feeling art come in different form ...an illustrative or decorative in other words graffiti is a master at the art of conversation.

art is defined as: "the quality, production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing, or of more than ordinary significance." graffiti does meet all of these requirements. i dont agree with people doing it on other peoples properties, but it is a form of art....

It is art. I'm impressed by the artwork on train cars.
Have you ever tried to paint a picture with spraypaint?
It's not that easy.
